No secret to anyone, but the "team" dominating the early season is the one led by "Mother Nature". Once again this long weekend teams at U16 & U18 were victim to the weather wreaking havoc on play Sunday, and then leaving too much damage to the field, rendering Monday a write-off as well.
As we look back on the first four weeks...
- UTM Early Bird - Brampton --- 10+ games wiped out
- Brantford Early Bird --- 120 games wiped out (estimate)
- Lion's Championship Stratford --- 65 games wiped out
+ countless exhibition and league games.
So we are sure Ontario teams have lost over 200 games already this season due to bad weather.
Thank goodness for an okay weather weekend in Brampton (May 12 to 14), and in the various locations that hosted Grand Valley League openers that same weekend.
Hopefully, better luck weather wise next weekend. We think next weekend is the busiest tournament weekend of the year, with large events in Halton, Port Perry and Waterloo. #FINGERSCROSSEDFORBETTERWEATHER
The season is short for us all... but it even shorter for the U18 Tier 1, and U16 Tier 1 groups, who have their provincials soooooooooooooo....... early in the summer.
