The weekend of July 7th, Ontario player Brittany Silver took the opportunity to be a guest player on Ohio State Buckeye All-Star team competing at the 200+ team Ohio State Recruitfest Showcase event. The weekend tournament was an excellent experience for Brittany.
Brittany had a good weekend in all aspects of the game, providing solid infield defense, and a perfect 3 for 3 at the plate in a key game. Brittany also went yard, with a home run at the event.
The Ohio State Recruitfest Player Development and Combine Clinic attracted over 50 College/University coaches and scouts from an array of division 1 facilities all looking for prospects.
This weekend is the first in a series of Ontario Girls Championship events. The U18 Midget Tier 1 championship is slated for July 14 to 16 in Mississauga ON.
15-teams will participate in this event, with not only provincial bragging rights on the line, but also spots in the U18 National Championship event (held later this summer in Lloydminster, AB).

A successful Canada Day long weekend for countless teams from U12 to U18 as results came in from places like Dayton Ohio, Canton Michigan & others showing strong performances from Canadian teams. In Canton Michigan, Ontario teams won the US vs Canada challenge, and then went even one step further by capturing Silver at 14U (Vaughan Vikings 02), Gold at 16U (Oakville Angels) and Gold at 18U (Waterloo Ghosts). There were other medal winning performances stateside (Brampton Novice, Kitchener Squirt, Kitchener Novice) and we also had several U16 teams winning medals at events like the Cornerstone in Kitchener. We likely missed some here and there as well! Great work coaches, players & parents!!! Keep up the effort the next 6 weeks leading up to your various provincial and end of year events!
